Cherry Blossom Festival to write home about in spring
Eighty-six-meter-tall Mt. Komaki and its summit castle lie west of downtown Komaki City and have a forest area which witnessed the ferocious Battle of Komaki and Nagakute. But in spring, the trees produce a gentler atmosphere with 1,150 of some ten varieties including Somei Yoshino, Kanzan, and weeping cherry trees coming into bloom as the Mt. Komaki Cherry Blossom Festival takes place. Komaki City Tourism Association offers local specialties available for purchase while Mt. Komaki Historical Museum and Rekishiru Komaki lengthen their hours into the night.
