Japan's national sport of sumo held at the Nagoya dojo
Sumo wrestling is the national sport of Japan and held with six tournaments around Japan a year. One of those tournaments is held every July in Nagoya. For 59 seasons, the Nagoya tournament had been held at the Dolphins Arena (Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium), but IG Arena (Aichi International Arena) has taken its place as the new venue since last year.
Each tournament continues for 15 days with winners of each level duking it out to take the title.
