500 trees take on the colors of fall, painting the botanical garden

Expansive Higashiyama Forest is one of the remaining such natural areas in the central Nagoya area and offers the beautiful colors of fall.
Trees which change their colors with the seasons grow naturally in the zoo and botanical gardens, and offer amazing hues. When the winds are calm, a spectacular mirror image of the leaves reflects off the pond for an indescribable beauty.

Autumn leaves illumination

The botanical gardens offer a glimpse not normally available during the daytime with its nighttime illumination.
• Dates: Sat, Nov 22–Mon, Nov 24 (holiday) and Sat, Nov 29; Sun, Nov 30; Sat, Dec 6; and Sun, Nov 7, 2025
• Time: Until 8:30 pm in the botanical garden area (admission until 8:00 pm)
• Location: Parts of the botanical garden (admission to outside areas not permitted)

Notes:
• Held even in rainy weather.
• Certain areas are closed from 4:30 pm.
• Please refrain from using tripods and selfie sticks when crowded.
• Use the Hoshigaoka Gate and Botanical Garden Gate for admission after 4:30 pm.
• Use the Hoshigaoka, East Botanical Garden, Kamiike, Midori Bashi Shita, or Sky Tower Parking Lots for admission after 4:30 pm.

Parking	Pay parking available (1,600 spaces. JPY 800/standard-size vehicle.) Note: • 2-hour parking validation ticket for those using the city-operated Ikeshita Parking Lot at Ikeshita Station on the subway.

3-min. walk southeast from Exit 3 of Higashiyama Koen Station on the Higashiyama Subway Line (board from Nagoya Station bound for Sakae and Fujigaoka).
