Stars of the world's oceans before your eyes

The Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium is located along the Port of Nagoya Garden Pier and beloved for its beautiful, mystical displays. The facility is divided into the North Building and South Building with the South Building created on the theme of A Journey into the Antarctic. Explore the oceanic environments from Japan to Antarctica in five exhibits: Marine Life Around Japan, the Deep Sea Gallery, Tropical Marine Life, Australian Fresh Water Life, and Antarctic Marine Life displays.
The North Building illuminates visitors with the motto of A 3.5-Billion-Year Journey into the Past: Animals Which Returned to the Seas. Learn from a variety of exhibits how animals evolve and the world of whales, originally land-dwelling mammals who gained a knowledge of the ocean to the point of having learned to live exclusively in it.

Dynamic dolphin performances seal the deal

Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium

Don't forget to check out unforgettable dolphin performances at the largest pool in Japan. Dolphins fly through the air from the giant pool with a width of 60 meters from left to right, width of 30 meters from front to back, and depth of 12 meters. The shows are beloved by all ages from children to adults and inspire as these magnificent aquatic mammals fly through the air. You can even see the show from a different perspective as you watch them soar up to the water's surface from the underwater window.

The firsts for Japan are endless at this premier marine research institution

Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium

Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium is also regarded for its study of marine creatures.
Belugas are bred, penguins live comfortably in a stably sustained minus-two-degree enclosure, and other firsts in the world of Japanese aquariums take place here. You can even see the world's largest penguins—emperor penguins—rarely available in captivity.
Sea turtles too can lay their eggs on a breeding beach, available to spectators. New generations of turtles have grown up here, making Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium a contributor to the sustainability of our oceans.
