Festivals and Floats: Spring and Summer in Aichi Special Feature

Aichi is famed for its many traditional festivals, and in particular for having the most number of traditional festival floats. These dashi floats are centuries-old wooden behemoths willed to move by sheer manpower, making for an awesome and inspiring display. Many of the floats carry fascinating karakuri mechanized puppets, developed and perfected in Aichi Prefecture to add an extra sense of awe as they move all by themselves thanks to age-old ingenuity.
