Spring is here at picturesque Tokugawaen Garden
Early spring between late February and early April at Tokugawaen Japanese Garden is greeted by plum, peach, and cherry blossoms decorating the premises. The garden's foliage greets visitors as well as numerous events. Plus, Tokugawaen Origin Day on Sunday, March 15 offers free admission!
Events
Floating hina dolls
The placement of hina dolls on small rafts to float on the water was the original form of Japan's famous spring Hina Doll Festival. Watch handmade pieces floated on the garden's Ryusen Lake.

Garden concert (film scores)
Listen to an acoustic performance with guitar and piano of musical scores from some of the good old movies of yesteryear.
• Date and times: 11:00 am–11:30 am (first session) and 2:00 pm–2:30 pm (second session) on Sun, Mar 15, 2026 (venue opens 30 min. before performances)

Black Gate Handmade Market
Sunday, March 15 is the anniversary of Tokugawaen Garden's establishment and is open with admission free of charge.

Tsumiki Market
This is an annual handmade market of Tokugawaen Garden. Vendors set up shop, selling handmade crafts and snacks.
