A festival to thank the maneki neko cats

Mass production of maneki neko, or beckoning cat, statues began initially with ceramic pieces around the end of the 1800s and the early 1900s. That makes a history of more than 100 years in Seto City and since 1996, the city has celebrated the auspicious feline statues with this festival. Beckon your own luck during the KURUFUKU Maneki Neko Festival in Seto!
All of Seto stops for this amazing celebration of beckoning cats! First and foremost, there's the 100 Japanese Beckoning Cats Exhibition Contest, featuring cat statues by 100 artists selected from open entries. And let's not forget about the delicious Fukufuku Lunches, hands-on beckoning cat workshops, cat merchandise available for purchase, and everything else cat-related beloved by all each year.
Get your face painted and put on some cat ears for the purrrfect day out around Seto!
