The Okazaki Castle Lord Ieyasu Summer Festival is a long-loved event by the citizens of Okazaki City. This year, the theme is "Celebrating Early August: Dance and Uplift Lord Ieyasu".
Participants and eventgoers can get a bit closer to local Lord Ieyasu—arguably the most famous shogun of Japan for his final unification of what once was dozens of warring factions—as they get a sense of Okazaki's passion and gratitude to their hero. Feel the festival's spirit at the many venues around the city.

Enjoy a variety of events like the Vat Loop Competition, kids dances, Takechiyo portable shrine, Okazaki Dance, Miso Roku Taiko Drums and the story behind them, and a talk show about Lord Ieyasu. The sounds and dances distinctive of Okazaki bring the venue to life.

The Nagamochi Parade, Okazaki Dance, Takechiyo portable shrine, and Ebisukui Dance Song brew a mood of celebration. This year's finale ends with 100 people uplifting the Miso Roku Taiko Drums. Watch as taiko drums are pounded in Okazaki—the city of Lord Tokugawa Ieyasu in the summer season.
