Agriculture, food, and health: A hands-on facility bringing farmers and consumers together

Aoi Park is located in Hekinan City—known for its rich agriculture—and offers visitors a farmers' market, hands-on harvest farm, greenhouse tours, a restaurant, herb bath, and other experiential and exchange-oriented features. Farmers' markets provide produce grown outdoors in Hekinan, one of the few locations in Aichi to do so. The city is particularly known for its signature carrots, which you can buy in large quantities.
At the hands-on farm, you can harvest strawberries and onions in spring; melons in summer; carrots, yams, and taro roots in fall; and daikon, carrots, and cabbage in winter. Try your hand at farming all year-round.

Note:
• Prices vary by season.

Sweet and sumptuous Hekinan Bijin brand carrots

Hekinan Bijin Carrots—bijin meaning "beauty" in Japanese—are exactly as the name suggests: real beauties with a rich orange color. They were created from another traditional variety of Hekinan to become the unique brand of produce beloved by many today. Plus, Hekinan's soil is ideal for growing carrots with great drainage properties, making for the perfect conditions for the perfect carrot both inside and out.
Hekinan Bijin Carrots are available for purchase at Aoi Park during the growing season, so don't forget to grab a bag... or five!

Note:
• Hekinan Bijin Carrots are available during the growing season. Keep in mind that they are popular and sell out quickly.
