Parade floats, mechanized puppets, and musical accompaniments

The Owari Tsushima Festival is a traditional autumn festival said to have begun approximately 300 years ago. Detailed mechanized puppets on beautiful parade floats bring a distinct color to the city of Tsushima.
Something you definitely need to see is the men at the front of the floats lifting their end in order to rotate the float as well as the devotional performances by skillfully crafted, ornate mechanized puppets. Bells and taiko drums ring out as kagura music and dance performances bring you back into the Japan of yesteryear.
