Shinshiro Summer Fireworks Display
Date: Aug 13,2025(Wed)
Shinshiro City's summer tradition
The Shinshiro Summer Fireworks Display has been held for over 50 years in the city of Shinshiro during the Obon Festival, when many come back home to visit their families and pay their respects to ancestors' graves. Its grand scale is a crowd pleaser, bringing back spectators each year.
A majestic silver cascade
of sparks and sequenced fireworks
Each year on the night of August 13, the staple summer event is held at Sakurabuchi Park on the pristine Toyo River, flowing throughout Shinshiro. An astonishing approximate 2,000 fireworks are shot into the night sky to spectators' delight.
Shinshiro is a mountainous region in Aichi, and the festival's venue is located in between the mountains, creating astonishing cracks and booms which reverberate throughout the area. One of the spectacles of the festival is the 150-meter wire striding the river, which when lit, creates a beautiful cascade of silver sparks above the water. Come and see the awe-inspiring scene as it is reflected off the water's surface.
