36th Shitaragahara Battlefield Festival
Date: Jun 7,2026(Sun)
A memorial for the departed souls of the Warring States period
The Battle of Nagashino-Shitaragahara in 1575 was the first war in Japan to use guns at a large scale. The Historic Shitaragahara Battlefield acts as the stage for the Shitaragahara Battlefield Festival, where a matchlock gun demonstration, warrior demonstration at the anti-cavalry fence, and other events take place for insight into what the actual battle may have looked like.
