Behold unmatched botanical beauty
Katahara Onsen Hot Spring is one of Gamagori City's beloved hot springs, offering a stunning view of Mikawa Bay.
The nearby Hodagaike area is known as "Hydrangea Village", and along its pathways, some 50 thousand hydrangeas burst into bloom. At night, the blossoms are lit up for the chance to see whole new expressions by the flowers different than that during the daytime.
Every year for a month from June 1 to June 30, the Hydrangea Festival is held with around 100 thousand people coming to see the beauty for themselves. A limited-time shuttle bus too is available as well as various exhibits, a photo contest, and other fun-filled events.
