Okazaki Cherry Blossom Festival
Date: Mar 25,2026(Wed) ~ Apr 5(Sun)
800 Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms glowing into the night
This year marks Okazaki City's 79th Cherry Blossom Festival. Some 800 Somei Yoshino cherry trees bloom in Okazaki Castle Park, chosen as one of Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots, and around the Oto and Iga Rivers. When in full bloom, the blossoms create a solid wall of pastel pinks. And when the petals flutter down all around you from the trees in the wind, you may find yourself speechless. The serene collaboration between the blossoms and Okazaki Castle too is a scene which simply must be seen.
During the event period, the Oto River's greenery park on the left bank (the Higashi Okazaki Station side) and the greenery park on the right bank (the Okazaki Castle Park side) set the stage for booths by various retailers. Find the perfect snack to satiate your appetite as you take in the wondrous beauty of these cherry blossoms.

Cherry blossoms bloom all around the park with the north side of the Iyeyasu and Mikawa Bushi Museum of particular beauty. The building's white walls and tiles make for an incredible collaboration. Photo spots to snap a couple shots are available throughout the park, making for the perfect chance to capture the serene beauty on camera!
Iga River
After a relatively short walk from Naka-Okazaki Station on the Aichi Loop Line or Okazakikoen-Mae Station on the Meitetsu Line, you are greeted by a row of cherry blossoms along the Iga River. Both banks along the river are much sought-after photography locations with lots of pictures taken here to relay the allure of Okazaki City.

Cross the pedestrian bridge from the East Exit of Higashi Okazaki Station on the Meitetsu Line, and you'll come to a statue of mounted shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu as well as lines of cherry trees along the Oto River.
