Nagoya City Agricultural Center Dela Farm
A relaxing getaway as you get closer to agriculture
The Nagoya City Agricultural Center opened in 1965 to promote agriculture in Nagoya City and for its 50th anniversary, took on its more familiar moniker "Dela Farm" after accepting naming ideas from the public. Ever since, the agricultural park has worked to disseminate and teach agricultural ingenuity.
The husbandry area is currently unavailable due to renovations, but the Wooden Terrace, BBQ Area, and Farm-fresh Plaza are open and available to the public since October 6, 2023. Find another side to Nagoya at Nagoya City Agricultural Center Dela Farm.
A space to kick back at the Wooden Terrace
What once was a dilapidated greenhouse has been disassembled and reborn as the Agricultural Center's new landmark: the Wooden Terrace. The facility features a stage for events, areas for children to play, and an outdoor rest area.
Barbecues at a quiet spot nestled in metropolitan Nagoya
BBQ Canvas Hirabari lets you grill as you enjoy the scenery of a surrounding lawn. Those using the facility created with the idea of enjoying a relaxing barbeque right in the city can stay a maximum of six hours and need not bring a thing. The ingredients offered here include vegetables and Nagoya Cochin chicken harvested at the Agricultural Center.
Veg out on freshly picked veggies
Nago Hachi Ichiba Market was established to promote local production and consumption. Enjoy freshly picked vegetables grown at the Agricultural Center, food products which go well with the vegetables, Nagoya Cochin chicken and processed foods using raw milk and other ingredients produced at the Agricultural Center, and fresh cuisine with an emphasis on local production and consumption.
Among the largest number of weeping plum blossoms in Japan
When one hears the name "Nagoya City Agricultural Center", they most likely think of its famous residents: the almost countless amount of weeping plum trees. Some 700 red and white varieties of weeping plum blossoms come into bloom at the plum grove—one of the largest numbers in Japan. In the early stages of spring when many other flowers have not awakened from their winter slumber, these floral wonders paint the entire area in brilliant shades as the scent of plum blossoms fills the air.
The Weeping Plum Festival too takes place from late February to late March each year. Details are available around the festival period from the Weeping Plum Blossom Festival info page below.
