Parade floats flood the streets around the city of Tokoname

From mid-March to early May, all over the city of Tokoname, gorgeous parade floats make their way through the streets to traditional musical accompaniments with mechanized puppets putting on shows. Long ago, smaller floats known as hanaguruma, or flower floats, were adorned with flowers and paraded around. However, as time passed, the floats took on the magnificent stature they enjoy today.
Six floats line up in a spectacle rare across Japan and equally as stunning. Some also put on paper lanterns outside of the station area and take off in an even more awe-inspiring scene.
Upon reaching the sacred premises of Shimmei Shrine and Tokoishi Shrine, the floats show their utter brilliance in another incredible fashion.
