Yagumoen, Kiyosaki Location
A riverside fishing weir and eatery
Alluring restaurant Yagumoen offers the town of Shitara's characteristic bistro, including gohei mochi rice cakes on a stick, covered in a sweet miso sauce and river fish. Salted and barbecued sweetfish caught in the Kansa River as well as piping hot sweetfish rice porridge are among the popular menu items.
Or another must-try, available for a limited time only, is the bowl of Kinuhime Salmon on a bed of rice. The mouthfeel is as soft as that of yellowtail and complements its characteristic chewiness and flavorful fat.
Whenever you find yourself in Shitara Town, Yagumoen is the place to stop and fill your belly.
In winter, Yagumoen offers dishes made with wild game caught by a local hunter. To make the taste easier to eat for those who aren't used to it, wild game is added to familiar Japanese menu items such as yakiniku set meals or miso-nikomi udon noodles.
