Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park
(Moricoro Park)
Ride the one-and-only Linimo out to a one-and-only expo park
Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park (also known as "Moricoro Park") was built for the EXPO 2005 AICHI JAPAN, held in 2005. The expansive park premises offer grassy plazas, areas to play in the water, a cycling course totaling 5.1 km, playground equipment letting you experience nature, and many other exciting spots for both children and adults. Why not hop on Japan's first maglev train—the Linimo—and experience the park for yourself?
Each floor of the four-story Aichi Children's Center is made completely for children to play with playground equipment and open spaces—in other words: a kid's playhouse paradise. Tunneling hallways up in the air, ropes to swing on like Tarzan, and other athletic play equipment come together at Challenge Tower. Indoor, the establishment is perfect for rainy days or cold weather.
An ice skating rink befitting the skating kingdom of Aichi is open year-round for you to enjoy sliding on the ice whenever you like. Ice skating shows by prominent skaters are also held from time to time. Don't have skates? Just rent a pair. (Chartered use of the rink requires advance reservation.)
The Kanare-tei Teahouse lets you rent a room all to yourself at just JPY 2,520 for four hours with advance reservation. Use it for tea ceremony sessions, some incredible photo ops, or however you like. This is a chance to enjoy authentic Japanese tea in an authentic teahouse with a view of an authentic Japanese garden—awesome all across the board.
You can even enjoy matcha tea and confections any day the teahouse is open, so come get a literal taste of Japan.
The Mori no Manabiya field center lets you experience nature, create crafts, and more. Exhibits and a variety of programs coinciding with the seasons are also available.
Walk together with a guide in the Walk with an Interpreter Forest Tour as you get closer with nature and learn more about it thanks to a knowledgable "Forest Interpreter" guide. The Kame no Ike course lets you go on a walk around a turtle pond—otherwise inaccessible—to experience amphibious creatures and scenery. A forest course is also available.
