Aichi Museum of Flight
A aeronautical museum tucked away right in Nagoya Airport
The first Japanese-made passenger plane YS-11 after WWII and other actual aircraft are on display in Nagoya Airport's incredible Aichi Museum of Flight. But it doesn't stop there. You can also enjoy a myriad of programs like the Orientation Theater, where 3D videos reveal the aerospace industry of Aichi Prefecture and its history; occupational experiences letting you walk in the shoes of a pilot or mechanic; the Science Lab, which offers exciting education on the mechanisms of aircraft flight through experiments and crafts; and the Flying Box virtual flying experience, letting you fly over Aichi's and the surrounding area's cityscapes and nature with a giant screen and moving seat.
You can also watch planes taking off and landing up close from the rooftop observation deck, some 300 meters from the runway.
Enjoy an expansive, characteristic museum all to yourself
This museum can be chartered for not only aerospace-related training and meetings but filming locations for films and TV shoots. Arrangements can even be made to meet your wishes, such as parties with catering and special unveiling of craft not normally available to the public. Details available from the Rental Details page (Japanese).
