Seven Atera Waterfalls
A spiritual location said to aid in becoming pregnant
The Seven Atera Waterfalls are so named as water flowing from the Mt. Su Highland falls down seven steps created from conglomerate fault scarps. It is counted as one of Japan's 100 most beautiful waterfalls and designated a national natural monument as well as a location showcasing the beauty of Japan's nature. At the bottom of the waterfalls is a conglomerate rock known as the Kodaki Stone, or Child Embracing Stone, and is said to aid in having children.
Legend also says that famous sorcerer of Japanese lore Abe no Seimei trained here during his younger years. This and the waterfall's plentifulness of minus ions in addition to its close proximity to the median tectonic line make the Seven Atera Waterfalls a spot steeped in otherworldly energy.
