The perfect road for a romantic drive

The Mt. Sangane Skyline Road is famous a 5.1-kilometer driveway also known as the "Hydrangea Line Road". From early June to early July, the approximate 70,000 hydrangeas planted along the road start to display their beautiful blossoms, making for a beautiful accent to the panoramic view of Mikawa Bay as you drive.

Other spectacular spots perfect for photography fans are plentiful at the mountain's peak, working with the hydrangeas and panoramic view of Mikawa Bay. After your drive, stop for a lunch laden with the bountiful bay's savory seafood.

Loads of product exhibition, lottery drawing, and other events add excitement to the festival.

Hydrangea Festival
• Date: Sat, Jun 13, 2026 (Held even in rainy weather though canceled should the weather turn inclement. Back-up date: Sun, Jun 14, 2026.)
• Time: Around 9:30 am–3:00 pm
• Location: Mt. Sangane Skyline Peak Parking Lot (overflow parking available near the venue)
• Details: Product exhibition, lottery drawing, and distribution of 1,000 free hydrangea pots on a first-come, first-served basis

Stage events:
From 10:30 am　Japanese taiko drum performance (by Sanga)
From 12:30 pm　Balloon art show (by Clowns CC & BB) / kendama and top spinning with Tonys
From 1:30 pm　 Yosakoi dance performance by Issei
From 2:00 pm　 Bingo tournament (available to those having received a bingo card at the lottery drawing)

Access by public transport

From Nagoya Station, take the JR Tokaido Line to Gamagori Station and change to the Meitetsu Gamagori Line. Get off at Higashi Hazu Station and take a taxi for approx. 15 min.

Approx. 40 min. from Otowa Gamagori Interchange on the Tomei Expressway.
