The only museum in Japan specializing in roof tiles
The Kawara Museum is located in Takahama City, production heartland of kawara, or clay roof tiles, boasting the highest scale of production in Japan. The museum exhibits Chinese and Korean roof tiles as well as Japanese ones. It offers pottery-making experiences where you can experience bisque-painting or make pottery on a wheel. On the museum premises is Morimae Park; themed on the ocean with waves and fish, and also a restaurant with lots of delectable vegetables.

- • From Nagoya Station, take the Meitetsu Main Line. Get off at Chiryu Station and take the Meitetsu Mikawa Line. Alight at Takahama-minato Station and walk 10 min.

• There is a bus stop nearby, but very few transfer points, making public transportation slightly inconvenient.
