Tourism Farm Hana Hiroba
From picking flowers in an expansive floral field to melon and strawberry picking
The Minamichita area in southern Aichi is relatively warm throughout the year, and this agricultural operation for tourists and anyone interested in trying their hand at farming makes full use of it. Perhaps one of its most well-known aspects is its gigantic flower garden, which paints the farm in different colors each season. Just a stroll among the rainbow of colorful flowers is more than worthy of the small admission fee.
This field of flowers is spectacular in that entire areas feature the same species, creating expanses of a single color—a popular scene for movie and TV shoots as well as a hot topic for informational programs. This is one spot you are going to want to bring you camera to. One customer over elementary school ages can pick as many as 10 flowers, or for sunflowers, up to five. Use the flowers you picked to spruce up your home's interior.
Plus, Hana Hiroba hosts fun fruit picking. From late July, pick your own ripe melons, and from mid-December to early May, succulent strawberries. Each year, reservations fill up a month beforehand, so don't leave your reservation for a later day. In addition to fruit, you can find seasonal vegetables direct from the farm as well as popular honey you can't find anywhere else. Come earn your haul and return home happy!
