Date: Feb 14,2026(Sat) ~ Mar 15(Sun)
One of Aichi's top plum groves with awesome views and eats
The Souri area in the city of Chita is home to Souri Pond, which in turn is home to around 6,000 plum trees of 25 varieties. From mid-February to mid-March, beautiful plum blossoms come into bloom just as the Plum Blossom Festival is held with various events, delicious eats, and spectacular sights.
Weekend trains/buses to the festival
Come out to the Plum Blossom Festival by train and bus. You can use the Chita Bus, available to board with transportation-type IC cards, or the Aiai Bus with a fare of only JPY 100. These convenient buses run more often on weekends and national holidays during the festival period.
Strolling Through the Plum Blossom Festival
Take a leisurely stroll to the Plum Blossom Festival's venue. Three courses are available. The Sakusaku (Blossoms) Course lets you walk as you admire the blossoms' beauty, the Mogumogu (Hungry) Course passes by cafes and restaurants, and the Machinami (Urban) Course takes you through the historic Okada Townscape.
