Home of wisterias waving in the wind

Tsushima City was once so famous for its wisterias that it was known as the ”Village of Waving Wisterias". A reminder of those days comes alive during the Owari Tsushima Wisteria festival every late April. Tennogawa Park acts as home to beautiful wisteria trellises spanning a length of 275 meters with an area of around 5,000 square meters, making the perfect home for 12 varieties of wisterias.
The blossoms wave in the gentle afternoon wind, while at night, they are illuminated in a radiant light for a surreal scene. Plus, a canal runs below the wisterias and reflects their purples off the water's surface, making for another way to enjoy these spring blossoms.
