A walk through time with gorgeous hina dolls
This year marks the 44th anniversary of a hina doll exhibition beginning in January 1983. Dolls which once decorated the households of families as a wish for their children's and grandchildren's healthy upbringing are put on display for all to adore.
This year's display focuses on the changes in style of hina dolls set up in homes through the Meiji period over a hundred years ago to the more recent Heiwa period. As the exhibit illustrates, hina dolls change greatly by time and region. Gain an understanding of these differences as you gaze upon the dolls, imagining the periods of times they decorated family homes.
