Hada Festival
Date: Oct 4,2025(Sat)、Oct 5(Sun)
A collaborative performance with Tezutsu handheld cannon fireworks
Hada Hachimangu Shrine is said to have offered miraculous efficiency to the builders of nearby Yoshida Castle during its construction. Possibly for this reason, generations of the lords of Yoshida Castle ardently venerated the shrine and are said to have aided in construction projects on its buildings and often offered donations. Hada Hachimangu Shrine is the foremost of Aichi's Hachimangu Shrines, and with markets held in its precincts on the 1st and 5th of every month, many continue to flock to it even today.
The Hada Festival, held on the first Saturday and Sunday of October, is one of Toyohashi City's great three festivals with 20 towns around downtown coming together to pray for bountiful harvests. A portable shrine is paraded through the streets and some 800 fireworks are shot into the night sky over two days from handheld bazooka-like Tezutsu cannons. Join the many who come and enjoy this buzzing festival.
