Omanto Festival (Higashiura Town)

"Hai yo!" yell the young men as they sprint aside galloping steeds

The Omanto Festival is a traditional one where horses dressed up with bells and other decorations gallop around shrine precincts with young men screaming out "hai yo!" as they grab on and sprint alongside them. The festival is held at different locations around the town of Higashiura as a prayer for a bountiful cereal harvest.
