A festival honoring the mother of Japan's hero

This festival is held far and wide in the town of Higashiura on Odai no Michi Street along the Myotokuji River and in Odai Park. Its main highlight is the Odai Parade, held in honor of Higashiura-born Odai no Kata, birth mother of the final unifier of Japan, Tokugawa Ieyasu. Odai no Kata takes the lead in the parade along with related feudal daimyo lords in a scene strait out of a Japanese picture scroll.
The Odai no Michi Street Light Display also takes place, for a surreal scene once night falls.

What to see

Photo Shoot with Odai-chan character and Chita Musume Idol Group
Character Odai-chan and idol group Chita Musume come to Odai Park on the day of the festival for pictures! We've realized the answers we received from last year's festival theme "Making Your Dreams Come True at the Odai Festival".
• Time: 2:00 pm–2:30 pm
• Ticket distribution: 9:30 am–10:30 am at the tourism association booth
• Participant capacity: 30 groups on a first-come, first-served basis (up to 10 people per group)

Note:
• Members joining from Chita Musume to be decided based on conditions surrounding the concert stage schedule.

Odai Castle Main Precinct Stage Events
• Time: 9:30 am–2:50 pm
• Location: Odai Park Waterside Stage
Enjoy an introduction to participants in the Odai Parade and performances by a variety of performers. Higashiura-born Yurie Kozakai, playing Chita Musume character Mirai Higashiura, also makes an appearance!

Odai Castle Second Precinct Stage Events
• Time: 11:00 am–3:00 pm
• Location: AEON Mall Higashiura Central Court
The Kariya Castle Warrior Entertainment Brigade and Princess Samurai of JAPAN group offer an acrobatic battle performance. Chita Musume characters join in as well as a violin performance to bring a new level of excitement to the Odai Festival.

Odai Parade
• Time: From 9:45 am (approx. 60 min)
Yae cherry blossoms bloom along Odai no Michi Street as Princess Odai no Kata and armor-clad warriors walk along in a stunning procession.

Odai Castle Town (product fair)
• Time: 9:30 am–3:00 pm
• Location: Inside Odai Park
Browse a product fair by Shinshiro City, Kinu'ura Autonomous City, towns connected with Odai no Kata, Higashiura Town Commerce and Industry Association, Higashiura Town Social Welfare Council, Aichi Chita Agricultural Cooperative, Higashiura Town Tourism Association, etc.

Nagashino Shitaragahara Matchlock Rifle Brigade
• Time: 12:10 pm–12:35 pm
• Location: Odai Park Lawn
Olden-time matchlock guns are planned to fire off rounds with gun powder in a demonstration inside Odai Park. Watch in awe as the Nagashino Shitaragahara Matchlock Rifle Brigade offers an action-packed display.

Note:
• Please note that the firing of matchlock guns is very loud. Event holders apologize for any inconvenience to those living nearby.

Nighttime Cherry Blossom and Bamboo Lantern Festival
• Date and time: Around 6:00 pm–8:00 pm; Fri, Apr 17, 2026
• Location: Odai no Michi Street Saikai Plaza
Enjoy a bamboo lantern-lit Odai no Michi Street on the evening before the Odai Festival.
