A flower festival but once a year

The city of Tokai, famous for its large production of orchids, is the location for the annual Tokai Flower Show. This is a chance to see exhibits of rare orchid species and buy decorative plants and a must for flower and gardening aficionados!
Come and see the beauty of Tokai City's incredible orchids.

Event participation (advance reservation required)

The Tokai Flower Show 2025; held on the Saturday and Sunday of January 25 and 26, 2025; offers workshops and hands-on experiences via advance application.
• Application period: Mon, Dec 2, 2024–Mon, Jan 6, 2025
• Application method: Send your name, address, contact info, and number of participants (up to four applicants per session); event name you wish to participate in; and the event time to the Agricultural Affairs Department, Tokai City Hall via mail, FAX (052-603-6910), or email (noumu@city.tokai.lg.jp).

Notes:
• Applications also available in person at the Agricultural Affairs Department. Unavailable over the phone.
• A drawing will be held should many applications come in. Written notification of those selected will be sent out from Tue, Jan 7.

Orchid Competition: Tokai Children's Shop (flower shop experience)
• Location: Omei Plaza on the second floor of the Tokai City Arts Theatre
• Date and times: From 10:30 am or 12:30 pm on Sat, Jan 25 / From 10:30 am or 12:30 pm on Sun, Jan 26
• Eligible participants: Ten children three years of age to elementary school ages (preschoolers must be accompanied by a guardian) per session
• Price: Free of charge

Marie Amano's Pot Gardening Workshop
• Location: Meeting Room on the second floor of the Tokai City Arts Theatre
• Date and times: From 11:30 am or 1:30 pm on Sun, Jan 26
• Capacity: 28 participants per session
• Price: JPY 3,000

Koji Yokoe's Moss Terrarium Workshop
• Location: Meeting Room on the second floor of the Tokai City Arts Theatre
• Date and times: From 11:30 am or 2:00 pm on Sat, Jan 25
• Capacity: 20 participants per session
• Price: JPY 3,000
