Cultural Path Shumokukan, the former residence of ceramics exporter Tamesaburo Imoto, is an oasis of calm situated in the corner of a busy urban city. It expresses the memories of the times it has seen since the Taisho era. Colorful layers of light fill the air of the Western-style building, while nostalgic aromas fill the air of the Japanese-style building. The garden shows the charms of the changing seasons.

Access by public transport

-Subway from Nagoya Station:
•Board the subway Sakuradori Line bound for Nonami and Tokushige, alight at Takaoka Station then walk 9 min. (850 m) northwards from Exit 1.

-Bus from Nagoya Station Bus Terminal (behind the JP Tower):
•Nagoya City Kikan Main Trunk Line: from Platform 10, take the Kikan #2 bound for Jiyugaoka and Itaka Shako via Chayagasaka, get off at Shirakabe and walk 7 min. (550 m) southeastwards.
•Me-guru Nagoya Sightseeing Route Bus: take the Me-guru bus, get off at Cultural Path Futaba Museum (Bunka-no-Michi Futaba-kan), then walk 3 min. (240 m) westwards.
