One of THE top dance festivals of Japan

The Nippon Domannaka Festival—also known as the "Nippon Domannaka Matsuri" or "Domatsuri" for short in Japanese—is one of Japan's largest dance festivals and marks mid-summer in Nagoya. It serves as the stage for one of Japan's largest dance festivals with approximately 200 teams from both Japan and abroad showcasing their own local dances and culture, with a novel style letting any citizen take part.
Each team rhythmically highlights their distinctive regional culture along with music and elaborate costumes as well as performances you just can't take your eyes off of. This year, 16 venues around Nagoya offer such performances with non-stop hospitality beckoning all to come and see.

Real-life Domatsuri in summer, TV Domatsuri in autumn

Nippon Domannaka Festival

The TV Domatsuri, born during the Covid pandemic in 2020, rings in its fifth anniversary this year. Dance performances in front of local famous spots and landmarks are broadcast before you online. Watch from your own screen the characteristic dances of various regions around Japan as if you yourself were taking a tour around the world. This TV Domatsuri has grown into one of the world's biggest online dance events and was even chosen for the 2022 Japanese Event Grand Prize (Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry Minister's Award).
The first two days are online with the second two days going beyond the screen, taking place at Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park (Moricoro Park), for the culmination of the festival's autumn version.
But the fun doesn't stop there; while dance teams show their stuff, team PR booths and local specialty exhibits too grace the event. Enjoy a Nippon Domannaka Festival, or Domatsuri in sunlit, autumn Moricoro Park and its atmosphere different from summer.

Real-life events offer a taste of once-in-a-lifetime moments and fervent passion. Online events bring to you limitless possibilities. Summer offers the Domatsuri and autumn presents the TV Domatsuri—testaments to the Nippon Domannaka Festival's evolutionary spirit where you can watch, dance, and enjoy the festivities yourself.
Emotion, excitement, and passion come together for at one-and-only Nippon Domannaka Festival.
