From Nagoya to the rest of Japan… and the world!
Started in 2003, the World Cosplay Summit—or WCS—grew exponentially in the following years to become a mecca for international cosplayers. The event is held each summer in the city of Nagoya in Aichi Prefecture, and in 2023, hosted more than 36 countries and regions.
While an international event, WCS has set its roots in the city of Nagoya and greater prefecture of Aichi. Working at a local level, it helps to invigorate local communities and stimulate the economy under the motto of "Cosplay" while at the same time offering a fun-filled opportunity to enter a world of anime, manga, game, and other characters as they walk the streets. It's even spreading the joy around the world via online streaming.
